Local in your Community and Global Online
Meeting in the heart of the town in Newark’s original Fire House, the church is easily accessible to everyone, whether on foot or a short drive. The church benefits from a small car park to the rear, and is fully accessible despite ability.
Since 2020, the world changed in the way we all meet, socialise and worship. During those periods of isolation, Newark Evangelical was able to continue its gatherings, albeit in the online space. God graciously blessed us during this time, and we have since made the decision to continue our online presence, in addition to physically meeting together. Many more have been added to our number and have been able to join our worship and fellowship through digital means, even when unable to be with us in person. See below for further details on how to join with us.
Walk or Drive
Join us in person
Just a short walk from the centre of Newark town centre, you will find us on the corner of Portland Street and Pelham Street, just past Lombard St. surgery and the large Asda store. We are on Google Maps too, so just search for us for directions from further afield.
Newark Evangelical has a small car park to the rear of the building, to the right as you enter Pelham Gardens. It’s limited, but there is priority parking for disabled badge holders, and a rear entrance which includes wheelchair access. If walking, you can access the building from the front or rear.
Around the world online
Whether you join us regularly and are unable to make it to an event, or on holiday and still want to worship with us, under the weather for a while, or just wish to see us before thinking of joining us in person - you can join us online live for our events, or at your own convenience (platform depending) later on.
Our Sunday services are broadcast live from the main hall of the church building, and can be followed in other parts of the church (including the creche), in case you wish to join with us quietly or more discreetly. The feed is also online ‘live’ on YouTube, through our channel; Newark Evangelical Church, and through Microsoft Teams.
Some of our midweek activities are also streamed online - through MS Teams, allowing people to interact and participate - feeling more engaged with the event or activity - like Bible studies and prayer meetings. Many have commented about how blessed they have been through being able to talk and listen “as though being there in person”.
For access to our MS Teams meeting ID, please speak to our Pastor or Dave Harrison, our I.T. support.
