NEC is a church alive with activity throughout the week, as well as on weekends. Here you will find a little more information about our Sunday Worship and other week day events suitable for everyone, no matter your age or availability. We look forward to seeing you and getting to know you more as you join us for any of these events and activities.
Sunday Worship
Sunday Mornings
Our Sunday morning’s are a great way to join us if you are new to church, looking for new spiritual home, or just visiting. You will be warmly welcomed by our team at the door, who can help with anything you need. Our morning worship begins at 10.30am, but there’s a short time of prayer for any who wish to pray before we begin the service.
With all the family in mind, you can join us as we spend some time in prayer, singing songs and in God’s Word. If you prefer, you can follow along quietly in the foyer, or privately in the creche if you have young ones needing a bit of space to themselves. All the rooms have the service transmitted live, so you won’t miss a thing.
There’s always a Sunday School ready in case you have any children who’d like to go, and we always round things off at the end with free refreshments and a time to chat and socialise - so stay as long as you like.
Sunday Afternoons
Like our Sunday morning worship, we meet again every Sunday evening at 6pm, where you will again feel warmly welcomed to our fellowship and friendship.
The evening format is very similar to the morning worship, but without the Sunday Club. Like the morning, we enjoy a social time following the service with free refreshments provided and always a friendly chat.

Happening every Saturday morning from 1030 till 12pm - weather depending, a group from the church can be found out in the Newark Marketplace with a stall full of free books, magazines, leaflets and other literature. Always open for friendly conversation about Jesus Christ and how He can change your life.
Held every Monday morning from 1030 in one of the ladies homes, a warm welcome is extended to any ladies who want to meet, chat and pray for the people and work of the church - over a tea, coffee and other refreshments.
Starting from 0930 every Wednesday morning in the church hall (during term time). The room and welcome is always warm and friendly, the refreshments are free, and there's always toys, activities and crafts for the kids (pre-school age). Come along for a chat, refreshments and a short but fun kids song and simple bible story.
Every Wednesday from 1.30pm, you'll find the doors of the church open to any who want to pop in. You'll be greeted and invited to share in a time of games, puzzles, crafts and conversation, always with plenty of tea, coffee and cakes. The time usually wraps up with a short topical talk from the the Bible.
Held once a month (1st Saturday) in the church hall from 0830, all are welcome to join us for a free continental style breakfast. There's lots to chat about, and we finish the time together with a short time of prayer for the people and work of the church. It's a great opportunity to meet some more of the church fellowship in a simple and friendly social setting.
Looking for something fun and engaging for your children - look no further! Kids Club (primary school age) runs every Friday evening 6-7.30pm and Xplorers (secondary school age) runs once a month (1st Friday) from 7.30-9pm. Both groups enjoy a different event each week, from games & quiz nights, to movies, sports tournaments, themed nights, game shows, outings and much more. It's always fun and exciting and always finishes with refreshments and a short talk from the Bible. It's all free!
A meeting for the men. Men don't naturally get together in the same way, and this is a great opportunity to fix that! Held once a month (on a Saturday) in the church hall, the men meet for food, a social time or a movie. Always a friendly welcome and something to help get you to know the church better.
The heart of the church is often the midweek meeting. For us at NEC it's a precious time to come together around God's word and have time to pray for His church and the work in this town. The meeting runs every 2 weeks on a Thursday from 7.30pm for an hour or so. All are welcome, whether looking to start out coming along to church, or a seasoned Christian looking for fellowship, everyone can find a home with us here.
Held every other 2 weeks on a Thursday evening from 7.30pm, the Home Groups are similar to our Bible Study and prayer evenings, but a little more homely. With about 4 groups (of various sizes) there's a place for anyone who wants to get to know the church fellowship more and meet around God's word, pray and enjoy some tea and cake. Our Home groups normally follow a theme or book of the Bible in a manner that any person can follow. Ask our Pastor if you would like to know more and attend your nearest group - or one with someone you know from the church already!
